Excellent Limited Slip Differential

I ordered my 2011 Jeep Wrangler Sport S with open differentials because I did not want the optional factory $300 rear Trac-Lok. Detroit Truetracs have a reputation for being bullet proof limited slip fully automatic diffs. They're quiet & lock up fast but act as open diffs when traction is good. These helical gear diffs are smooth & maintenance free. If you're on ice or have one tire off the ground and it's spinning, you can trick the diff to lock up by tapping the brake, otherwise they lock up on their own when needed. These LSDs may not be true lockers but they operate automatically without cables, electrical or air. The 912A585 is the correct P/N for Dana 30 JK with 3.73 & numerically higher gears. The 913A589 Detroit Truetracs are the ones you want for Dana 44 JK rear axles. Just be aware, that Eaton may not honor the warranty with tires over 33 inch. These should be installed by a professional shop that knows how to set them up properly.

I recently had my Jeep re-geared and wanted to also upgrade it's overall capabilities. I saved some cash getting these on Amazon. They work great and now I'm just getting to the point where I can really put them to the test ( had to break in gears first). These are completely invisible in everyday driving situations but kick in just when you need them (front diff only in 4wd). I can feel when they do kick in and transfer power but its very slight and only for a split second. I wish these came factory because after re-gearing and installing these I'm at about $1300 per axle in upgrades. I do also like knowing that my Jeep is an unstoppable tank now, very reassuring!
