Everything just works - not for technophobes maybe
By Ellie
The thing about this Timex Expedition WS4 camo watch is that you gotta read the manual closely and spend some time familiarizing yourself with all its features. Other reviewers complained that a feature didn't work until they finally found out after searching the internet that the watch had to be "reset". Well, wow! It so happens that turns out to be shown in the tiny manual that comes with it. It just involved pressing the lower right button to finish a procedure setup. Not exactly like a "reset" on your desktop computer. Simple!I gave it the air pressure I got from the internet for my location. The result is that it tracks the barometric pressure accurately and also gives my my altitude based on sea level pressure. The temperature measurement is quite accurate when you take it off the wrist. And the compass was right on the mark after I did a simple procedure from the manual to set it up. You just turn it around slowly twice while in the compass setup mode. What's hard about that?I like this item. It does what other manufacturers models do for half the price. And camo! I like camo. This is easily a great buy in a multifunction watch. It even tells you on the back panel the number of the battery it takes so you can stock up on them. Probably the battery life suffers a hit from the complex things this "watch" cum wrist computer can do. Recommended.

good feature set that is accessible
By Van Smith
The Timex Expedition WS4 is a great ABC (Altimeter, Barometer, Compass) watch at a great price. It is affordable and sets new standards for ease of use; the watch is much easier to use than my Casio Pathfinder and the sensors are more precise and accurate.Calibrating the WS4, a sometimes tricky task with competing products, is straightforward and exceptionally flexible. For instance, multiple calibration points for the altimeter can be entered into the watch so that the watch can be instantaneously calibrated when you are at a set location. The large display is very readable and provides an unmatched amount of information. The Indiglow backlight is very bright and illuminates only the LCD digits and pixels. The chronograph records up to 99 laps while also logging sensor information which can later be reviewed. The timer can be set to immediately restart while reporting the number of times it has restarted. While the watch is large, it is light and comfortable. The watch looks surprisingly good. I was afraid the camo design would be over-the-top, but it actually looks great. The Timex Expedition WS4 is a handsome, approachable, thoughtful, full featured, easy to use ABC watch at a very fair price.Note: be sure to spend ten minutes going through the initial setup instructions at the beginning of the watch manual. While the WS4 has display prompts that make it easy to use, the watch, like all ABC watches, must be initially calibrated in order for it to produce valid results.Lastly, the CR2430 battery is easy to replace using only a coin. The Energizer Watch/Electronic Battery, 3.0 Volts, 2430, 6-Count Pack batteries are inexpensive and available on Amazon.

Like it, but.....
By John Pedrick
I like the features of this watch but it has a couple of issues that should be noted. The first is the Temperature sensor is on the back of the watch, to get an accurate reading you must remove it and let it set for half an hour. The second is the short battery life which is about six months, yes you can replace it yourself but it is not easy to find.
