Caterpillar Mens Trademark Vest, Black, Review

I work in the mining sector and I am a fan of rugged, tough and construction-esque type clothing. I have wanted a vest for some time and the only other vest provided by Caterpillar (CAT) is the puffer vest, which is just too puffy for me, it makes my body too much out of proportion and the light fabric on it makes it easy to tare. I just could not feel comfortable with the puffer vest.Fortunately I found this vest, which is exactly what I have been after. It is a tight fit on the body and you can feel the warmth it provides right away, when you put it on. The price VS. quality is fantastic and one of the main reasons I buy CAT clothing.I am a little disappointed it is water RESISTANT and not water PROOF, but there is a fair argument that you wouldn't wear this during rain, but it would be great if the item description said water wouldn't adversely effect it too much, because I don't know how wet it can get or it doesn't matter if it gets wet, just as long as it is dried. I am still finding that out. However, this isn't really issue, just personal standards.When it says there are two shells, it means the top half, which is the shoulders, is the water resistant part as that is where water (rain) falls on obviously, where as the bottom half is regular cotton. It's a smart design choice as it allows the body to breathe, it also looks cool as well.The hand pockets are great, they're easy to get into, my only criticism is that it gets a little tight when you put something in the button up pockets, as that reduces the space for your hands when you insert them.The material on the inside of the vest feels and looks a little weak, but it does the job, it holds your phone and has room for a small wallet, loose change or whatever fits in there.The zipper is durable and it's designed in a way that it is difficult for the zipper to disconnect where you join the two together, I like that, it's something I have never had before, but it feels like an extra bit of security.The last thing to talk about is the part that goes around the neck. It covers my neck completely and is pretty tight, which is kind of awesome, because it makes me feel tough as my neck is covered from the elements, the only thing that sucks about it, if you have a beard or some facial hair, it is a little cumbersome at first, but you get used to it. The other thing that sucks, which is my biggest quarrel, if you have dead skin on your lower face and along the jaw line, it sticks to the vest and you have to take it off. Not a problem, just a personal gripe, but I aim for perfection.Overall, I cannot recommend this enough. I hope mine lasts for years and that they don't discontinue this, because I would definitely buy another one, when and IF it does become unwearable.

Well made, great material.

Over all this is a great vest. The ploblem lies with the size, I wear size medium. The problem appears when I layer up for colder days. I purchased a size large figureing it would be large enough to go over a sweat shirt, it does but it is verysnug. I should have gotten an extra large.. So if you purchase this vest PLAN Well.
