works great no odor

I went to Staples and bought their best heavy weight vinyl chair mat , my carpet is plush with memory foam padding. Two things, the mat stank like chemicals ( that's the PVC ) and after 20 minutes in my chair the wheels made little craters in the mat so no more rolling. After much research I found that EVERY vinyl mat will have the harsh smell and no matter the thickness of the mat it will stretch and not be flat. The POLYCARBONATE mat is lightweight has no discernable odor and doesn't cause lil craters to form around my chairs wheels. In other words worth, every penny of the extra cost. The vinyl mat went back. The Cleartex Ultimat is just that ...the ultimate chair mat.

Good quality - not for plush carpets

This is the second new chair mat I have purchased since we had our carpet replaced about 3 weeks ago. The first mat (which was for standard pile carpet) had nubs about 3/16 of an inch long and it was constantly moving under my office chair. Reading the description on this one (for plush carpet), I expected this mat to "stay put" and have long nubs on the gripper side. I received this mat about 2 days after ordering. I can't complain about the quality (it was twice what I paid for the first mat)but unfortunately, the nubs on this one are also about 3/16 of an inch long. Thinking I might have been shipped the wrong model, I checked the packaging and it is in fact the 118927ER. This mat slides around on my carpet just like the cheaper mat it replaced. If you have plush carpet with pile close to 1/2 inch (or longer), this mat will probably disappoint unless you don't mind chasing it across the floor a couple times a day. Look for a mat with longer nubs - these are way too short to be recommended for plush carpet.

This mat arrived in perfect condition in a flat cardboard sleeve and is exactly what I wanted and expected. It is clear, shiny and heavy duty. I am very pleased.
