Awesome equipment

The equipment is very nicely built. Heavy duty enough for ANYONE'S home gym. Assembly took me 10 hours. I'm an engineer and pretty handy with tools. The instruction book included an addendum of corrections. Even with that, there were a couple of places where the instructions said to use a certain part number of bolt and there were none left of that number. There were other part numbers that were never requested. I was able to look at the sizes and match up the "extra" part numbers to the depleted part numbers and get the thing assembled without too much frustration. The leg press is sold, packaged, and shipped as a separate item so the installation instructions basically have you assemble the main frame first then disconnect some of it to add the leg press. I tried working setting up the leg press in parallel so I wouldn't have to undo work that was completed, but in the end was not able to save any time this way. I was expecting the 160# weight stack but it arrived with the full 210# so don't go buying the extra weights until you see what arrives. Total shipment weight of the equipment was just over 600# - have some help handy. The heaviest box weighed about 150# and was way too bulky to handle safely by yourself. Once assembled I was very impressed with the quality of the equipment. This is as nice as the stuff I had access to in college. The only down side is the absolute and complete lack of any instructions for how to USE the equipment. The leg extension, leg press and chest press pieces are pretty obvious. In addition there are several (four?) rings where you can attach any one of several different types of handles/grips. I believe the manufacturer should provide a booklet showing the typical exercises that isolate particular muscle groups by attaching which handles/grips to which attach points and how to use them effectively. I was unable to find anything from the vendor and so far have found nothing from other third parties. Maybe I'll write one! If you have a basic understanding of how to use weight machines I believe you will be pleased with this purchase.

Great value, solid gym, lots of features.

Bottom line: This is a great buy. EDIT: I just wanted to say 8 months later I'm extremely happy with this purchase. The machine is a smooth operator and the variety of exercises is great. If only they'd make the weight rod longer and support 260. :) It's sturdy enough and there's enough height.It is quality equipment, and to get this many features in any other gym you'd have to pay more than twice as much. Any other gym with multiple position bench arms, lateral pull down bar, functional pulleys, curl bar, leg extensions and leg curls, and a leg press will cost you over $2000, if not over $3000.Despite its low price, this is not a "cheap" gym. It uses thinner gauge steel than a Body Solid gym, but for home use it is more than sufficient. Overall, the gym is well built and well designed. Assembly was smooth - all the bolt holes and parts lined up perfectly, the cables were easy to route and were the right length, and the welds look good. The motion is also smooth and secure when using the gym.The Powerline P2X is not without some problems, however.The assembly instructions contained a few errors (mostly in the Leg Press instructions). Some of the hardware was referenced by the wrong part number in the instructions. Also, one diagram showing how the cable from the leg press hooks up to a floating pulley on the main gym was incorrect (it showed a carabiner when none should be used). Personally, I think the errors were easy to spot and simple to resolve. A novice may get frustrated, but if you have some experience assembling things or wrenching in general (on cars or whatever) you should be fine.On my gym (it may not be on every gym), the plate covering the pulleys in front with the Powerline logo on it got in the way of the locking pin for the bench arms in the furthest rearward position (for mid-rows). It could not sit flush due to a weld in the way, and therefore the pin will not fully engage. I hammered the corner as flat as I could, and I think the pin engages far enough to be safe; however, I would have much preferred to not deal with this issue.Also, the functional pulley arm does come close to getting in your way when you use the leg press. It doesn't actually touch me, but it's a little close for comfort.My last minor disappointment is simply that the gym has a maximum of 210 pounds. This is a common limit on many gyms, including much higher priced and supposedly heavier duty gyms - so it's really not a big negative. However, they included stickers for up to 26 weight plates, which was a tease because it certainly seems that if they simply made the rod through the weight plates longer that the gym could support 260 pounds of weight, at least. Thankfully, the leg press uses pulleys to achieve a 2:1 weight ratio for a maximum 420 pounds resistance on the leg press.Oh, and this gym is exactly 83" high at its highest point. My ceiling is 83 & 1/4" and this gym fit with just a tiny gap between the highest pulley and the ceiling.Amazon was out of stock of this P2X with Leg Press combo, so I ordered mine from All Court Sports for only a small amount more than the price here.In summary:Positives--------- * Offers many different exercises * Great price, considering how many exercises you can do on it * High quality construction, heavy duty enough for home use * Smooth, secure, confident operation * Well designed, easy to assemble * 210 pounds of weights (when you add 50 pound upgrade) - it's rare to find a home gym with more * Leg press uses 2:1 pulleys for 420 pound maximum resistanceNegatives--------- * Some errors in assembly instructions can be frustrating * Functional pulley arm is a little too close to leg press station * Unfortunate that they don't offer more weight upgrade past 210 pounds * On my gym, the logo plate interfered with one position of the locking pin for the bench arms

like it but..

Nice solid built machine. Covers pretty much all key exercises. The assembly took almost 2 days because the instructions are extrenely poor and several updated sheets are randomly thrown in the box. Leg press is nice but the shoulder touches one of arms..just be careful. An exercise chart would be nice to have.
