Authenticity verified by swarovski

I took this ornament directly to my Swarovski store (Polaris Fashion Mall - Columbus, Ohio). I had the friendly gal behind the register watch me open the package directly from Amazon, showed her the receipt and asked her to verify the ornament's authenticity. She stated that it was indeed a Swarovski ornament. I like the color, it's not overpowering but it's different than the regular crystal ornaments. (The SRS club has gold ornaments now, which started in 2009). I have been purchasing Swarovski's annual snowflake ornaments as presents since 1998 (I realize not the first year of production, but I'm gathering quite a collection). I like having more options to give, since my mother's birthday falls around Christmas. I hope she loves this ornament as much as she loves the rest of her collection.

Think it's fake sorry! It's not on the Swarovski website!

So I absolutley love Swarovski.....anything Swarovski....almost everything in my wedding was Swarovski from my hair to my dress to my shoes to the insides of the stems on our champagne flutes. Our Christams tree is always covered in Swarovski ornaments and I am always buying this year's editon and making sure to purchase plenty as gifts. When I saw this I was beside myself to see that they had made an additional special addition 2010. Usually they make the 2010 snowflake and then they make the special edition that is just for members. I always do research when I see something so exciting and rare....and to my dismay....I can only find this specific ornament on one other website....so to clear things up....I thought, surely if this is as real and as magnificent as a suprise as I was hoping it would be!-then it would definitely be displayed front and center, where else, but on Swarovski's website. Well it is not!!!!! This is not part of their 2010 special edition Christmas ornament collection. As a matter of fact, it's not on their website for this year at all, or even just at all!!!....if there is a reasonable explanation for this I am open to hear it, because as I said, I was excited to see this...but if Swarovski themselves are not donning this ornament why should I....at least for such a hefty "Swarovski" price if it is not indeed Swarovski. Perhaps it is from years past and it is just trying to be presented as this year's special edition, but again....someone smart would check the original website to verify....if you can prove me wrong....I will recant....but until then, I am stating that I do believe this to be an untrue description of an item. Either it is not genuine Swarovski at all, or it is not from 2010.....which means you branded the ornament with a false year....either way...it appears that something is "false" and not worth a "genuine" price. : (

This is a real Swarovski ornament!

I saw this ornament on Amazon the other day and considered buying it but like others, I was skeptical about its authenticity since I also couldn't find it on the Swarovski website. I took my mom to the Swarovski store at Vintage Faire Mall in Modesto, CA yesterday and when we walked in, they had 2 of these ornaments displayed!! We were very excited and found out that this is a test ornament that Swarovski has created for this year and sent to only some stores (we were told only 5 California stores received them). This store was lucky enough to get two shipments (they had already sold out of their first shipment) and had just received another shipment. So my mom and I each purchased one, very excited to have found such a treasure. They are really beautiful in person and since we both collect the yearly star ornaments, it is a wonderful edition to both of our collections. Apparently if these do well, Swarovski may consider creating more annual star ornaments with color for future years. I hope they do!
