Smooth operator

This is the 'baby' Thunnus. I bought it because it is reasonably lightweight yet gives me good line capacity. I use it with a medium weight 7-foot Cabela Saltstriker rod for stripers and blues in Long Island Sound. I've spooled it with 30-lb braid and fish with a 5-foot fluorocarbon 25-lb-test leader. It's got an exceptionally smooth drag and the oversized handle makes for an easy retrieve. It won't wear you out after a long day of casting. I like the combo because it's extremely sensitive; I have lots of fun fighting fish in the 2 to 12 lb category but it gives me confidence that I can handle something much bigger. The bait-running feature is interesting but I haven't had a chance to give it a fair test yet since 95 pc of my fishing is with artificials.

Good looking knife.

I just received this as a birthday gift from my wife and I've got to say really like this knife, I was a bit disappointed it wasn't Santa Fe through and through, but can't complain. The handle looks great and the blade seems sturdy enough. The knife is small, fits comfortably in the pocket, however it is pushing the "is this still useful?" envelope. In my opinion it is fine for me, but if you like something with a bit more heft shy away. Also, the brass on my knife is whiter and not as gold colored as the one in the picture.

good but alittle bulky

After much debate and reviewing I chose the gold over the platinum..Although the gold protects you more than the platinum, the platinum seems to conform more to the body and is much lighter and less bulky..I wish i wouldve tried my friends platinum before i purchased the gold, but i guess it will have to do as i dont want to spend another $150..I guess when making decision, decide whether you will need ultimate protection ie: 80 plus mph, if so then go with gold but if doing just little league rec ball use the platinum.

A #1 must for all Umpires.

This West Vest Gold has been a blessing in disguise. I have taken alot of hits in the shoulders and the chest with alot of wild pitches. Didn't feel much. The rib pads do need a strap to hold them in place. This is a must for all Umpires. CAT Sports really went way beyond the call of duty in making sure I recieved my vest.

Best Chest Protector On The Market Hands Down!

I have been using this protector for about 4 weeks now and I must say that I am very pleased with the return on my investment! I no longer have any worries about the level of protection that I will received with baseballs thrown from 75mph and up! This gear is lightweight, sturdy, and gives you total confidence and peace of mind behind the plate! Awesome Jacket...Just Right!

I took my first ride wearing the Gore Countdown jacket on a cooold 21 degrees Chicago evening. My ride was about 5 miles each way. The jacket performed FLAWLESSLY. I was wearing only a t-shirt and long sleeve thermal underneath. Upon arriving at my destination, I was actually beginning to break a light sweat! I could have easily gotten away with just a t-shirt underneath. The jacket is quite warm. While I don't imagine using it any time soon, as winter has just hit, I imagine the two way zipper will be quite effective in regulating heat distribution, while also keeping my neck warm. The fit is also perfect! As a commuter, I'm normally also wearing a backpack. Usually, with a heavier coat on, the backpack gets all bunched up and feels quite restrictive. With the Countdown, the fit is sleek and close to my body in all areas, allowing for a very comfortable ride. The sleeves are somewhat longer, to compensate for the stretch down to the drop bars; again, a perfect fit. Incidentally, I'm about 6'2" with a pretty long reach. And the neck is just the right height with just the right snugness for warmth. All said, the Countdown seems an ideal jacket, versatile enough for mild to cold weather riding.UPDATE: Went for a ride today in classic Chicago winter weather...30 degrees(24 with wind chill). The wind was whipping up something fierce. Simply put, this jacket lives up to its Windstopper moniker.

Overall a nice jacket, but the zipper is lousy.

This jacket will definitely keep you warm and dry. I wore it in horrible conditions (40 degree temp and fairly heavy rain) and didn't get drop of water on my undershirt or down my neck.As for the fit, I'm 5'10" and about 150 pounds so I decided to get the Medium. It does fit a tad roomy and long but If I wear a couple of layers underneath it fits better. The collar is bit higher than I thought it would be but it is flexible enough that I my neck didn't get sore even with the jacket fully zipped.Speaking of the zipper, it is the biggest drawback. The quality of the zipper and the teeth feels cheap. Sometimes it zips up easy, other times you'll struggle with it. It seems like it's the one corner that really got cut.If you're in place that has terrible weather 7-8 months of the year (and I do live in MN) it's difficult to think of better jacket for biking than this one.

Super warm, super lightweight

When I first took this jacket out of its package, I could not *believe* how lightweight it was! I've never seen an insulated jacket -- especially one that keeps you so warm -- that weighed so little.This looks like your basic "puffer" insulated jacket, except that it's much sleeker/slimmer-looking and has all the features a cyclist needs. The collar is fleece-lined for extra coziness; the sleeves are cuffed with elastic to prevent drafts from getting in; the font pockets have shock cord/drawstring stops inside so that you can adjust the fit of the waist without having to pull the jacket up and risk losing your valuable stored heat. There are reflective elements next to the front pockets and at the top of the shoulders. The back is long, as you would expect on a cycling jacket. The back zippered pocket opens on the right side instead of the top, which is *so* much easier to access. The outer fabric of the entire jacket is Gore's "windstopper" material, and man does that stuff work. You will not be feeling a breeze through this jacket.I can wear this jacket with a thermal jersey underneath and be comfortable on rides in temperatures from 25-45° F. (Any warmer than that, and I have to switch to a less-insulated jacket or I'll overheat. This thing is seriously warm!) Of course, when it's cold enough to wear this jacket, I also wear my cold-weather Pearl Izumi gloves, shoe covers, and a thermal skull cap or my cycling balaclava, and that combination keeps me warm the entire ride.I'm 5'4", ~110 lb., slim/straight figure, and I typically wear an XS/0-2 at most retailers. I ordered this jacket in an XS, and the fit is literally perfect. The only aspect of this jacket that wasn't exactly as I expected is that the sleeves aren't as long as the ones on my other Gore cycling jackets. Don't get me wrong: the sleeves on this insulated jacket reach my wrists just fine when I'm on the bike, no complaints at all -- but based on my other Gore jackets, I was expecting them to be at least 1-2 inches longer. If I were any taller, or my arms any longer, I'd need to size up to a Small to make sure the sleeves were long enough.Overall, this is a superb jacket for cold-weather cycling (or even backpacking, since it's so lightweight), and I highly recommend it. If you can get it on sale, DO IT. You'll thank yourself when you're out on your bike this winter.

A must have, well for me.

We replaced the fitted carpet with hardwood floor so my previous speaker stands (cinder blocks) had to go. I ordered these and was pleasantly surprised at the quality and the fact they look good and work well with my speakers.I'd recommend them to anyone. I'm normally a little cheap, although these were not expensive they are worth every penny I spent. Now I don't look cheap and I have a bargain.

Exactly as advertised and as expected

These earrings were just the right size, the gold and small diamonds give off a nice shine, and my wife thinks the leverback fastening is a great idea, but needs to get used to it (seems that it's a bit more challenging to get in her ear than her other earrings.) These were purchased as simple, everyday earrings (they aren't intended to take the place of diamond studs or her larger/more ornate gold or gemstone earrings) and she seems very pleased with them. I learned many years ago: "Happy wife, happy life"...and these earrings made her happy!

The chest protector I use

Having umpired minor league pro ball, Babe Ruth League World Series, NCAA and high school games, this is the chest protector I've come to rely on. I've used all the other top protectors and this does the job we umpires want it to do. The Wilson West Vest Platinum chest protector protects the collar bone extremely well by wrapping a hard shell with padded fabric backing around your neck and over the top of your shoulders. No other protection is necessary. The hard outer shell of the protector covering the torso deflects balls without any pain whatsoever. Under the hard shell is a padded fabric backing to keep it very comfortable. It is easy to get on and off by slipping over your head and then connecting the wrap-around belt. There are adjustments that can be made to the straps at the waist and the shoulders to keep the protector in place where it should be. The protector comes in two sizes based on your coat size. Get the correct size and adjust it so the neck area stays up around your neck. This form-fitting chest protector fits easily under your uniform shirt, which should be one size larger than your regular shirt to accommodate the shoulder protection. You're going to be very happy with this chest protector.
