Fits very small

shoulders are VERY Narrow, its light though and looks well made. Definitely a VERY small fit, I would say the XL size I purchased fits more like a medium

When I first took this jacket out of its package, I could not *believe* how lightweight it was! I've never seen an insulated jacket -- especially one that keeps you so warm -- that weighed so little.This looks like your basic "puffer" insulated jacket, except that it's much sleeker/slimmer-looking and has all the features a cyclist needs. The collar is fleece-lined for extra coziness; the sleeves are cuffed with elastic to prevent drafts from getting in; the font pockets have shock cord/drawstring stops inside so that you can adjust the fit of the waist without having to pull the jacket up and risk losing your valuable stored heat. There are reflective elements next to the front pockets and at the top of the shoulders. The back is long, as you would expect on a cycling jacket. The back zippered pocket opens on the right side instead of the top, which is *so* much easier to access. The outer fabric of the entire jacket is Gore's "windstopper" material, and man does that stuff work. You will not be feeling a breeze through this jacket.I can wear this jacket with a thermal jersey underneath and be comfortable on rides in temperatures from 25-45° F. (Any warmer than that, and I have to switch to a less-insulated jacket or I'll overheat. This thing is seriously warm!) Of course, when it's cold enough to wear this jacket, I also wear my cold-weather Pearl Izumi gloves, shoe covers, and a thermal skull cap or my cycling balaclava, and that combination keeps me warm the entire ride.I'm 5'4", ~110 lb., slim/straight figure, and I typically wear an XS/0-2 at most retailers. I ordered this jacket in an XS, and the fit is literally perfect. The only aspect of this jacket that wasn't exactly as I expected is that the sleeves aren't as long as the ones on my other Gore cycling jackets. Don't get me wrong: the sleeves on this insulated jacket reach my wrists just fine when I'm on the bike, no complaints at all -- but based on my other Gore jackets, I was expecting them to be at least 1-2 inches longer. If I were any taller, or my arms any longer, I'd need to size up to a Small to make sure the sleeves were long enough.Overall, this is a superb jacket for cold-weather cycling (or even backpacking, since it's so lightweight), and I highly recommend it. If you can get it on sale, DO IT. You'll thank yourself when you're out on your bike this winter.
