Product Description
Create a Network of Pulsating Metronomes! The BodyBeat Sync represents the ultimate in musical tempo reference devices. As a fully featured metronome, it is capable of transmitting the beat by visual, aural and tactile means. Wireless functionality allows two or more BodyBeat Syncs to work in synchronicity with one another, allowing the networking of multiple units on stage, in the recording studio, band room or anywhere the precise synchronization of a performance and its performers is required. Flexible Usage OptionsThe BodyBeat Sync can store up to 100 user presets consisting of tempo, meter, subdivision and accent pattern. All preset information is transmitted to each synchronized unit as well as the current bar count of the active preset. If the 100 user presets do not provide enough versatility, the "tempo map" from an entire musical score can be stored in the BodyBeat Sync via the mini USB cable. A standard MIDI file can be used or a custom "tempo map" can be designed via the free application on the BodyBeat Sync website. Additionally, the BodyBeat Sync can be driven by a DAW using MIDI Clock via the mini USB cable.

Favorite metronome
By E. Ban
I love this metronome. This design of this metronome is easy-to-use; it is compact, has a clear display, a few different sounds to choose from (pulsing option is my favorite), wide range of tempi (sometimes I need to go as low as 25 bpm, I think the lowest it can go is 10 bpm), it's easy to skip to different tempo presets, plus it has an internal battery you can charge when you plug the metronome into an outlet (via charging USB cable). Although it took while to learn the basic functions (about an hour), when I learned all the basics, I couldn't go back to anything else. I am a former Dr. Beat owner & fan; I definitely like this more!

Great device, but disappointed with tempo mapping
By Jason Gooselaw
I like the unit, it's a good size and very portable. It's got good features, but the reason I bought it was because of its ability to run tempo maps. I saw the tempo map tool on the website, and fell in love! I've never seen an easier way to create maps, and love the fact that it's GUI-based. However, one thing that I never read in any review or any literature is that this unit only holds 9 maps. It has 99 presets, but those are for one beat each. Which is great if you play songs that require one tempo, but we play music with varying time signatures and tempos. So in the past, I just wrote off using a click, unless I was in the studio and could set up a map on the computer.Additionally, you can't give the maps names, from what I could tell. You just have to remember that a certain map is assigned to a certain preset. I play in multiple bands, so I'd like to be able to assign a band name and song name to each map.So in spite of the wonderful mapping tool on the website, and the body beat vibrating device, I decided to return it. Thing is, I need more capability than storing 9 maps, and after much more research, I found a way to create a click map using Audacity, which I can then render to MP3. I can make as many as I want, tag them how I want, and store them all in my iPod, so that's the way I have to go for now, though it's a bit more work. Hey Peterson guys, if you expand the mapping capacity/capability, I'd love to buy this again later. Maybe with a firmware update, or the next model or something.Anyways, I didn't use it for any of the other features, like the wireless or anything, so I can't really comment there. But I'm sure they work great. I only really bought it for the tempo maps, which I was quite disappointed in, so it just wasn't very useful to me. I'm sure it works great for the more prominent features, so it probably could get another star, this rating is really just my rating based on what I needed. I think it's a really good device, as far as metronomes go, so please don't base your decision to buy or not based on what my needs are, I know using maps isn't that common. If you're not worried about tempo mapping, this is a great little unit.

Terrible Battery Life
By Chris Tee
My reasons for buying the BodyBeat Sync2 over other metronomes (ie: tama rhythm watch) was that you can have up to 100 presets and that you can also move forward and backward within the presets (as opposed to just forward). I love that it's compact and has a mounting thread. I also like the idea of the vibe clip. However, the vibe gets lost when I start to play the drums. So, I just use it to help me start the tempo of songs. Not a deal breaker, but this was definitely what initially drew my interest. (I get tired of hearing a click in my ear or looking at a blinking metronome light). I also think that the vibe feature may be more prominent if you play an instrument where you don't use all your limbs or move around as much like a drummer would.Overall I really like the unit, but hesitate to recommend it for these reasons: it takes over 2 hours to charge, when using the vibe feature I can't even get an hour of use out of it. I contacted Peterson Tuners. Told them of my issue. They did replace the battery and the USB connection. But, those changes haven't improved the metronome's battery life or charging time. Supposedly, when you don't use the vibe clip the unit will last approx 7 hours on a single charge. However, I ONLY use the vibe clip. You can use a power adapter, but that makes it a less portable and convenient option. If battery life would improve then this metronome would be awesome.
