Looks great, but beware if you use it with 27" iMac
By deeno
I got this to use with my 27" iMac. I did extensive research before purchasing and one of the entries in the Ergotron forum claimed that the 27" iMac "should" work fine. Unfortunately the iMac is just too heavy for the monitor adjustment to work. It works fine for the overall height adjustment, but you cannot individually adjust the monitor height. It's still good enough for me so I kept it, but just be aware that you might not be able to adjust the monitor height and that might be a deal breaker for some people.I have been using this for about a week now and overall I like it. It looks nice and if you tie the cables nicely it doesn't look too cluttered. The build quality is very good. The assembly instructions could be better, I made some mistakes and had to go back and fix them later. I also purchased the work surface accessory which gives you additional space. If you are planning to work standing, I would recommend this for most people, as long as your overall equipment weight is within the suggested limit.Update 12/21/2011The spring broke and became unusable. Called Ergotron and they were really nice and shipped a replacement right away and arrived within 3 days. Excellent customer service, didn't even ask me for a receipt, just serial number. What's even better is that the new unit works much better with my 27" iMac, seems like it handles the weight much better. So I can certainly recommend this for anyone with a 27" iMac.

Great and VERY easy to assemble and Use
By EmmieM
This sit stand workstation was a SNAP to assemble. There are no written, only graphic instructions and at first I said to myself, "oh no." But in about 4 minutes, I had this product assembled. It took me longer to take the screws off the back of my new 30 inch monitor than it did to assemble this item. There were no specific references in the company's website videos on how to raise and lower your monitor....basically you just slide your hand under the keyboard tray and apply a light amount of lift. It glides and is very easy to bring down. The one down size is keeping your large monitor on a straight and level horizontal. My version came with the monitor attachment that can swivel the monitor 90 degrees. Will find something to keep it level later. For now it is very easy to level it with the touch of a very, very light touch. Great product. I have recommended it already to friends and will likely recommend it well into the future. It is extremely durable in feel and made of good quality materials.

Does what it is supposed to.
By Nigel Wolfe
After a few weeks of use I've gotten to really like this device.I knocked off a star due to the frustration of getting it together. It's a simple device, so, on the one hand, it wasn't that bad; on the other, it seems as if it should have been easier. The instructions contain only pictures, no explanations; and the pictures aren't always very clear. I eventually figured each thing out with the help of a "mechanical" friend. I have a few fasteners left over. I think that's fine, but, you know, it leaves me with a weird feeling. Some notes: You'll need a Philips head screwdriver. Everything else is included. Well, except, one picture shows what appears to be a drill, but I didn't have one, and it wasn't clear to me which part I was supposed to be drilling. I blew it off, but the stand seems fine. See what I mean? Weird. You will need a platform with a straight edge and nothing (such as a drawer) under it. My office cube happens to have that, but I can imagine there are some cubes that don't. Before you purchase, verify you have a place to put it. It sticks out from the edge a foot or so.Once I had it up, I found that the arm that lowers or raises the keyboard and monitor has a nut underneath. When I first got it, I assumed I was going to have to loosen and tighten that nut each time I would want to change position. That seemed like a bad design until I realized I was wrong (again, no English explanation telling me how it should work). In reality, you adjust that nut until you reach the right balance. Then, two things should happen: the arm moves up and down easily; and it stays in place where you leave it. If you find it doesn't stay right where you put it, tighten the nut. If you find it is too hard to move up and down, loosen the nut. You don't have to keep adjusting it. It is, in fact, a really nice design, contrary to my original assumption. I can move and set the arm in an instant, depending whether I feel like standing or sitting. Also, there is a separate track for just the monitor that will move it closer to the keyboard or further away (height-wise). This is also an instant adjustment. Useful for me because I find I like the keyboard and monitor closer together when I am sitting. As you might expect, you can also change the angle up or down. Further, you can rotate it. I can't comment on that last one because I am fine with a portrait view. One thing that would be nice would be an ability to pull the monitor (or the keyboard) forward or push it back. My monitor is a touch screen and it would be nice to not have to reach my arms out as far to touch it (plus I have a fat stomach). I can't fault Ergotron for that one because most people probably don't have touch screens and fat stomachs (and it might be bad for your eyes to pull it closer).Anyway, in summary, it does what it is supposed to do: let you stand or sit and have your equipment be where you want it. If you need the choice of doing either at work, it is worth the purchase.Let me know if you need other info to make this review more helpful.
