good but alittle bulky

After much debate and reviewing I chose the gold over the platinum..Although the gold protects you more than the platinum, the platinum seems to conform more to the body and is much lighter and less bulky..I wish i wouldve tried my friends platinum before i purchased the gold, but i guess it will have to do as i dont want to spend another $150..I guess when making decision, decide whether you will need ultimate protection ie: 80 plus mph, if so then go with gold but if doing just little league rec ball use the platinum.

A #1 must for all Umpires.

This West Vest Gold has been a blessing in disguise. I have taken alot of hits in the shoulders and the chest with alot of wild pitches. Didn't feel much. The rib pads do need a strap to hold them in place. This is a must for all Umpires. CAT Sports really went way beyond the call of duty in making sure I recieved my vest.

I have been using this protector for about 4 weeks now and I must say that I am very pleased with the return on my investment! I no longer have any worries about the level of protection that I will received with baseballs thrown from 75mph and up! This gear is lightweight, sturdy, and gives you total confidence and peace of mind behind the plate! It absolutely takes the worries out of getting hit, so you can focus on the game and calling balls and strikes. Absolutely worth the investment!
