This jacket is packed with features!

7 pockets to start with, and all of them can be secured in some manner. The two bottom slash pockets zip, and are wonderfully roomy. There is a right breast pocket, and left breast pocket, the sideways zip pocket on the left breast, another pocket above that with a velcro closure, a pocket high on the left sleeve, and a breast pocket inside.The cuffs are adjustable with velcro closures, so there's no elastic to wear out and they can be made to fit snugly over thick or thin gloves. The collar is high and fleece lined, the hood rolls up and tucks away with velcro tabs, and the lining is quilted and black. The zipper is very beefy and is a double one so you can unzip it from the bottom if necessary, and the snaps are well spaced and very sturdy.The description says twill but it's twill on steroids; waterproof, windproof, and very durable. Tent floors should be made out of this stuff; it will last forever, and look even better once it's broken in a little.The jacket does run a little snug in the shoulders; I ordered a large and this fits more like a men's medium. The length is great, and the sleeves are plenty long, but I won't be wearing anything incredibly thick under this jacket. Of course as warm as this thing is, I won't really need it. It's also a little longer on me than it shows in the photo; I'm 5'5" and the bottom of the jacket is about even with the bottom of the front pockets on my jeans.I knew it would be a good piece of equipment since it bears the Caterpillar name, but it exceeded my expectations in every way. This has already gone on my wish list for my brother-in-law for next Christmas.

I wanted to like this coat, but...

I've owned this jacket for a year (just threw it out) and it could of been the perfect work coat, but...Pros:-Light weight. Not too bulky.-Durable outer material.-Warm with good wind-break.-Lots of pockets.-Good price.Cons:-Poor Chinese construction.-Zipper sucks. It was finicky from the start. Kept getting caught in flap. Finally broke after a year of moderate use.-Sleeves are tight, which I like, but this is not a coat for larger men.-Threading started to unravel after a year.

Good Coat

The coat itself is pretty nice. It definitely blocks the wind and keeps you warm. The only two complaints I have are the side pockets are a little awkward for me and the collar seems a bit large. I sometimes wish I could fold the collar down.
