5Very good upholstery staple gun
By Bill
As a professional upholsterer with over 26 years now in upholstery, this is my 3rd staple gun and my first new staple gun. Yes, a quality gun will last years if not decades. This is a very good gun, and I use it daily. I have had this gun for about 6 years now, and my In-Laws who also have an upholstery shop have the same guns in their shop as well.We both got new guns because you could no longer get parts for our old 1960-70s duefast staple guns anymore. So we had to buy new. Rainco was the gun we both independently chose. Will it last decades, don't know for sure, but I would not be surprised even with professional daily use. Also, the staples are about $8.00 a box of 10,000. Now that is way cheaper then say Arrow T50s or such.In short a good upholstery pro or hobbyist gun. Staples are pretty cheap even for a pro. A box last me about 3 weeks to a month. Again I use it all day long with great results. And if you know how or where, can be rebuilt by most upholstery supply companies or you can get parts to rebuild it yourself. One bad point, the little safety switch on mine and my In-Laws guns both fell off. No problem for me or them. It got the way mainly since our old guns did not have them, and we were us to not having them. I really didn't like it anyway so fine with me. But for you, you may feel different.A good gun and it will staple pretty much any wood you find in furniture.Side note:Staples you will want for Upholstery:Empire #7 in 3/8 for general upholstery use, and 9/16 for longer needs like cardboard strips or webbing. You will use 3/8 70% of the time so maybe 3 boxed of 3/8 and one box of 9/16 is about the right percentage. This will get you though several sofas and quite a few chairs.

4It Works Fine!!
By Stephen R. Walker
I'm a reupholster. I have always used Empire stapler's. When I read this ad, it said it was an Empire gun. So I bought it. It was less than my supplier sold them for. When I received it, it was a Fasco Stapler. I wasn't happy. But I have tried it. Seems to work OK, but now the long term will be the answer? When you buy it, It will be a Fasco gun. SW
