Excellent speaker stand with audiophile features

I bought this center channel speaker stand, but am actually using it for left and right front speakers. This way, the speakers are perfectly positioned for listening seated on our couch. I am currently using it with my 20/20bas Event studio monitors, which are awaiting replacement with Event Opal speakers.I found the stands to be aesthetically pleasing, and of very solid, heavy construction. The bottom plate is a powder coated, heavy casting, and the top plate is also quite heavy. The vertical column is a heavy gauge aluminum extrusion. You can increase the inert characteristics by filling the vertical column with sand or lead shot. There is a bottom paper seal for the column to support this. The 3 screws holding the top plate are recessed. Floor stands are adjustable spikes with plastic feet, if you have hardwood floors. There are optional spikes for the top plate, or you can use rubber pads for isolation.There is provision for running wires inside the column. But if you use balanced audio cables with pro style XLR connectors, you will need to run the cables before assembly. Assembly is simple with three screws at the top and at the bottom of the column, plus four spikes for the bottom stand and 4 optional ones for the speaker.Dimensioned for a center speaker at 12" x 8", the speaker plate is a bit wider than needed for my 20/20bas Events, but should be just right for the Opals.The stand looks very nice and of high quality, and is acoustically inert even at high volumes. Compare this to stands costing 3x - 5x!
