Suitable for home use

The immunochemical test is considered the best for fecal occult (vs Guaiac (gFOBT) and others). Another main competing test is the Beckman Coulter's Hemoccult.This test is designed for use at medical offices, but it's extremely easy to use (e.g., like a pregnancy test), and you can easily test at home. This is more convenient that sending the test back to a lab, and also allows you to test multiple times.Insurance reimburses approx $30 for the test (not that you will be reimbursed, but that's what they would pay your MD). Plus the fee for an office visit. This is $3/test.It's everything you need to test yourself -- multiple times.
