Nice HRM, worth the price

This is a good, high quality HRM. After a month of use, I'm happy with the accuracy, variety of metrics (HR, time, time in workout, time in HR zones, kcal, etc.), and ease of use. The graphical interface is nice for getting info at a quick glance- progress in the workout, arrows up or down to steer you towards your desired HR range, etc. Some cons include an instruction manual that is incomplete at best, poorly translated at the worst, and a pretty rigid workout program. Setting it up for your own custom workouts is very difficult (read: impossible), so if you want to do anything besides their prescribed workouts, you're going to have to ignore the prompts to slow down/speed up, etc. That said, the built-in workouts are excellent if you're looking for the HRM to act as a personal trainer and guide your runs/workouts entirely. If you already have your own training program however, the system programmed workouts will only get in your way. It is possible to start your workout and just ignore the in-workout prompts, but it does become annoying after awhile. The HRM itself is solidly built, and the chest strap is very comfortable- probably the most comfortable HRM strap I've worn. Overall, a very nice HRM. Aside from the somewhat inflexible training programs, it's probably one of the best mid-range HRMs you're going to find. I would give it 5 stars, but for the preset programs.
