By Charles Beckers
Maybe I didn't read the description carefully enough, but I expected this DCC loco to have a working headlight. On subsequent review of the description, that expectation may have been unfounded. In any case, it does not have a working headlight. Otherwise, it works as expected.Hey, it turns out it does have a working headlight! I apparently haven't figured out the correct DCC control yet, but it definitely works when I power the loco with old-fashioned DC. When running in the dark, the cone of light cast by the headlight is very realistic. (PS - that means the loco is definitely dual-mode control.)

By matthew Rizzo
This N-Scale locomotive looks beautiful and is exquisitely detailed. The problem: The wheels fall off the tender. The purchase of this locomotive was my second attempt with the same results as the first. Bachmann had a great idea in an attempt to utilize all wheels of the tender as contacts but their method of wheel attachment is in need of redesign. If you don't mind the wheels falling off, the front truck seems to be sensitive to derailing at the tight radii on my layout. If your layout is basic and you don't plan on over-handling handling this little beauty, then this would be an excellent addition to your collection.

By William B. Moye
I have been shopping around for a good, solid, steamer for my tiny layout. I hesitated because it came with DCC on board.Since we Neanderthal types can not do well with complex concepts, I avoid them. But...., since the price was so luring, I orderedit anyway. It is way above average in details, looks, and performance. I put it through a tough operational test. It will pull ten cars very well. It takes sharp curves with no problem. It backs up well enough to be used as a switcher. It goes through turnoutssmoothly, possibly because all wheel electrical pickup. The most impressive thing to me is that the locomotive will smoothly stop and start, even not hesitate executing "The Creep", with a consist or not. I do not have DCC, so I can not tell you what it can doat a higher level of electronics. I am well pleased with the engine.
