By Avidbirder
I have only used my board once so far, so this review is more on initial set-up and use than long-term durability etc. The board came with a pump, pressure gauge, patch kit, and fins. The board looks well-made and attractive, and the traction pad on the top is huge.Initial set-up did not go as smoothly as I was hoping for, but I think with multiple uses, I'll get better at it. The fins were a serious struggle to get into the locks, it look probably a good 25 minutes of trying to wrestle them into place, as the board is not really pliable enough to easily squeeze them into their locks. It would have been impossible to put them on if I'd inflated the board first, so keep that in mind. I left them in after deflating the board, and will probably continue to do so, to save myself the effort and time in the future. After finally getting all 3 tracking fins in place, the actual inflation of the board went easily, though when I tried to remove to pump to close up the hole, I twisted the value and accidentally let all the air out, requiring me to start again - a good workout, but not fun.I only inflated to the "green" pressure on the pump, which in retrospect I should have known wouldn't have been enough pressure based on how the board felt. Carrying the board down to the water was more difficult for me since I am short and petite and the board doesn't have the handle mid-board that most non-inflatable SUPs do. I had help finally when someone saw me struggling, but next time I'll bring something to wrap around with straps so I can carry it myself.I pushed out and noticed that the board was under-inflated, but didn't want to go back to shore to add more air after all that trouble so I dealt with the bit of imbalance and slowness that were caused by the lack of pressure. Still, once I got out onto the water, the board felt nice, had great tracking, and made a great platform to lay out and enjoy the sunshine for a bit. Fighting against the wind on the return was difficult, probably wouldn't have been as hard had I inflated to the proper PSI, but I'll know that for next time. All in all, a good board for someone who isn't an avid SUPer, but wants to use it recreationally to explore the bodies of water around my region.

I purchased this board to use mainly on the New River in North Carolina and Virgina....I love this board...It is sturdy, well designed and simple to use. It is designed for multi-purpose funtions ie sit-on-top kayak or SUP, it is not extremely heavy, it is made very well for durability. It has multiple d-rings for x-tras like taking along a small cooler or such.... All around a great board for the price! :)

I ordered this SUP after a friend and his wife purchased inflatable SUP's & raved at the ease of use and convenience. My SUP arrived from Amazon in perfect condition. Upon opening the box and inspecting all the parts here are my impressions...The SUP itself is really built well. The material is similar to what you would find on a Zodiac and once inflated, I went to the max 13 lbs, the board was rigid and able to support my 6'/220 pounds with very little sag... more like a spring...The D rings are conveniently placed & unlike some of the other reviews there was a small handle included to clip to one of the side D rings so that I could carry the board under my arm. Also included in the box was a small puncture repair kit in a hard plastic container. The tracking fins were a bit of a chore to install but nothing as bad as some of the other reviews. You do have to squeeze the locks together a bit but you only have to get the fin hook to engage the top of the lock. After you are at that point firm pressure on the fin will snap the fin into place... I can see where it would be very frustrating if one were trying to actually squeeze the locks together as illustrated in the instructions where the fin hooks and locks completely clear each other... Don't even try to duplicate that scenario. The board comes in a zip up pack that is about the size of a standard suitcase, a bit larger than a roll aboard. There is a small pocket sewn inside to hold the fins. The bag is large enough that it can hold the board, fins, and pump if you are careful about rolling/folding the board...The pump was functional but did leave a little to be desired. Perhaps it's because I am a larger guy but it seemed as if the "stroke" was just a little short. Inflation could be much more efficient if the stroke was a bit longer, at least for my frame. The corrugated plastic/rubber hose from the pump to the board had 2 small holes that needed repair immediately. Some rescue tape and a couple of zip ties and all was well...The valve connection for the pump to the board is really simple & straight forward. There is a inflation position and a deflation position on board half, and the hose/pump half twist locks on with a small clockwise quarter turn and twists off with a counter clockwise quarter turn. Once inflated though there is so much pressure that that release twist is impossible by hand, some kind of tool (not included) is required. As stated in another review, I too inflated the board, a nice warmup workout, only to struggle to release the pump connection and having all the air escape and having to start all over... My first trip out I had to resort to a large set of channel locks in order to get the valve to release properly... Once I got home I drilled a small hole in the flange on the hose portion of the pump so that I could add a small rope handle to assist in twisting the hose end. It is a really simple tweak and it works great now...My final impression is that this a really high quality board & I'm super happy with it. The board tracks well, is super stable and surprisingly fast. Adding my rope handle made setup & inflation super fast, less than 10 minutes. Yes the pumping is a workout but I view it as a good warmup prior to getting out in the water.
