Rolls Royce of Greenhouses

I was really hesitant to spend this kind of money on my hobby gardening. However, I am glad I did.I really, really looked at everything on the market. I chose this one for a number of reasons:First, there is very heavy aluminum construction pieces which support the structure. This is important because I live in an area in which snow and wind shear are a problem. (Snow can reach 24" every twenty-four hours, and, winds gust up to fifty miles per hour). The aluminum structure is powder coated, baked, enamel, which protects it from fatique and deterioration (even under intense solar conditions which I have at 6600 feet).Second, this is a GLASS greenhouse. I looked at all of the reviews on acrylic greenhouses, and, without exception, the acrylic starts to fade, discolor and become milky within a few months. This glass is 4mm laminated glass (windshield glass). It stays clear. It will not deteriorate under heavy UV conditions. It can take hail and debris being kicked up by the wind. It can flex in the aluminum frame without breaking. The manufacturer warns that you must remove snow from the roof. They are right. The pitch is not steep enough to allow for more than an accumulation of a foot of snow. However, snow is easiliy removed with a broom or plastic rake. It's not a big problem.Third, the glass is held in the aluminum structure with very heavy, real rubber grommets. Real rubber provides flexibility for the structure and the glass (allowing it to weather winds) and provides superior insulation around the glass.It takes about four days to assemble this. I hired someone to do it for me at about $15.00 per hour. Any good handyman (handyperson) can assemble this.It can be assembled over dirt or lawn, or on a slab. The distributor has real, live, intelligent, helpful, native English speaking people you can call to help you. It comes with its own DVD to show you how to erect it.I elected to have my builder construct a slab. I made one about 16x20, six inches thick, with steel reinforcement and had the concrete mixer add fiberglass to the mix. It is indestructable. The extra sqaure footage is for a patio next to this greenhouse.This will stand up to hail (4mm tempered glass), and, it has wind braces, but, the manufacturer cautions that it should be protected from high winds.I am heating it with an attractive stainless steel firepit.Urban Fire Outdoor Stainless Steel Gas Fire Pit, Glass Color: Black Reflective It has its own water misting system for cooling and humidity.
