Nice Rifle

I was able to site in the rifle within minutes. If you know how to shoot a "springer" it's a great gun. My wife likes it for indoor target practice.

Excellent indoor target shooter

It's light, quiet, easy to cock, and accurate. Chinese-made airguns aren't what they used to be, and the Stoeger is an excellent example of the high quality coming out of their factories. The trigger pull is a bit long, but smooth. There is no trigger adjustment. Out of the box it is a crisp shooter with no spring twang or vibration, giving the impression of a gun in a higher price range, or of a gun that has been tuned. For indoor target shooting it's just about ideal, especially if you decide to mount a scope on the 3/8" dovetails. The ambidextrous wood stock is nicely finished, and comfortable. For the mechanically inclined who have a spring compressor, this is an easy gun to disassemble. Although there is not a surplus of factory oil/grease in this shooter, the shooting cycle is improved by a simple tune lube. Very little plastic was used in its construction - safety, muzzle brake, trigger block, and trigger guard. Pretty impressive for the price.

This is a good product. It has proven accurate, and powerful. It is rather heavy, probably too heavy for a kid to manage easily. (The gun is long.) So, good muzzle velocity. I didn't measure it, but the time between trigger pull and a thunk on the target is short. The 0.177 pellets do much damage at the target. The break action is easy to use, although again not that easy for my grandson to use. He needs to grow a little more, and that is happening. There are many air rifles in the market. I cannot make any comparisons. However, this Chinese-made gun is robust, solid and accurate. It also had a good price. Likely, Amazon was able to drop it at my door with their usual fast speed.
