Thule Ascent 1600

I had to replace my Thule Mountaineer because I changed vehicles (to a Honda Odyssey). I needed a shorter cargo box so I could open the back hatch. I do miss the space of the Mountaineer especially for my fishing poles. But that is not a knock on the Ascent. What is awesome is the mounting claws the Ascent box has, which makes it very easy to install. It is nice to have the dual opening capabilities. I drank the Thule Kool-aid and went with the new Aero bars and Rapid Crossroad Railing Foot Pack.A couple weeks ago I went on vacation in Northern Wisconsin. Of course it rained/snowed/hailed 4 of the 7 days I was there. The Ascent handled the weather great. Everything was dry and safe.Thule makes a great product, although it isn't easy on the wallet. But if it is anything like the Mountaineer, I should get many years of use out of it. Highly recommended.
