Best Deal on Killer Monitors in Price Range!

KRK Rokit 6 Powered Monitor SpeakersI did a lot of checking around in this general price range.I bought these on a sale/deal after reading up and comparing lots of brands, sizes, prices, quality, customer reviews, etc.When they arrived I was almost shocked at how heavy they are. Solid and stylish with rounded front corners and front facing slotted bottom port -a design attribute claim that they throw off a more even and accurate bass response.Honestly, I really wanted the 8" inch Rokit 8 monitors, but they were just a little too large for the desktop and after being 90% convinced they were terrific, I ordered a pair of the 6" Rokit 6 powered monitors.When I plugged them in and hooked them up I was completely blown away at the clarity, punch and loud volume.I set the Hi-Freq control about halfway and boost the volume control slightly around 3-6 DB and work the rest of the Level & EQ from the mixer/source.The highs are silky and clear.The lows are tight and punchy. It handles high volumes very well without getting muddy, buzzy or distorted. (unless you overdrive and crank the s*** out of them!)My mixes have instantly gotten much better knowing that these speakers are reproducing the tracks more accurately.A good way to "hone in" on your mix is to put it up against your favorite song that has a killer mix/production. Get used to hearing what a flat professional mix sounds like and try to achieve that by going back & forth, doing the A/B comparison. This way you will know that your mixes won't be too muddy, muffled, piercing, screeching, mid-rangy or hollow when played back on most systems.If you are like me, a home studio enthusiast but doesn't have the budget or justification to spend unlimited amounts of money on uber-expensive gear, then look no further. These are perfect. They are loud, clear, punchy and accurate.If I was going to get speakers for a Home Entertainment System, Television or PC/Mac computer, MP3, etc., I would probably get the Rokit 6" or 8" for those too. They could definitely handle great low-end bass and spaceship/engines/bomb-type rumbling sounds, but for the really big & loud ultra-low earth-shattering sound I recommend getting separate Rokit Powered Sub-Woofer.I love the ease of use with the powered amplifiers built-in, hookup is a snap. Just plug them in and run a cable to them. Also makes it really easy for quick portable setup anywhere. (but remember, they ARE a wee bit on the heavy side!)3 different types of inputs to accommodate any setup.XLR/MIC type low impedance input.Standard RCA (stereo cable) unbalanced input.Standard 1/4" balanced TRS (tip-ring-sleeve) input.More than worth the asking price...better if you can get them on a special deal or sale.If something were to happen to these I would definitely replace them right away.As you can tell I am very happy that I bought these and highly recommend them to anybody who is looking for killer powered monitors for a reasonable price.Check out the photos I uploaded for better views.
