I like this scanner. Previously I had cannon flatbed scanner, but recently I install Win7 for which Cannon doesn't want to update drivers, so I had to pick another device.Biggest downside for PS410 is that it will not scan all the way to the edge of the page since scanning light is 1", 0.5", 0.75" and 0.25" away from the edge of the device, and scanner will not scan if rollers don't spin. Most books have 0.25" from the text to the edge of the page. As a result, to scan everything on the page <8" long, you'll have to scan the page 2 times and than splice the pictures in the Photoshop.Another problem is when rollers stop spinning when scanner gets to the edge and consequently scanner will stop scanning 0.5" away from the edge. To fix this issue, peace of paper can be inserted between the scanned page and the next one, so the rollers will continue spinning.

Good little scanner

Good stuff. Like everyone else says, it eats batteries. No problems though. Just scan slow and steady and it works like a charm. Graduate student essential.

I can understand why people who want to copy book pages would get a little frustrated. It's kinda hard to get into the corners and tight spots.But, I'm not scanning books! I have to rifle through thick files and get scans of certain portions of documnents and this thing has made my life a breeze.Quality scans and easy to use. I only did a couple of color scans to try it out, and they came out great. I've been working in B/W and I've been getting flawless hi-res scans.Comes with a card, big bonus!AAA+++ on my end
