5Xlnt Device for Bluetooth on the Android running Torque
By y0_maan
Love it. It's a bit more than the others but well worth it.#1 90 day return policy#2 3 year warranty#3 I bought a cheap LM327 unit from China and it broke giving off spurious radio that interfered with my friends bluetooth enabled radio. It just stopped working. Got me looking for something that will last.Scantool emulates the LM327 chipset for OBD-II and it is Fast, even over bluetooth. The class 1 bluetooth interface has a dynamite range and the indicators on the unitare much more informative, if not just downright entertaining to watch. Not to mentionthat it hangs on a cord instead of of a direct plugin unit like the chinese knockoffs;the chinese units hide the led's under the dash (no cord). My e-mail correspondencewith Scantool was not as I expected; E-mails were answered in one day consistently. The LM327 unit I originally purchased for 20bux took a while to get to my door. Mostdefinitely from China. I first tried that one on a few cars at work. It worked okay.To my delight it showed engine intake vacuum, actually boost going in reverse. Oddlythe next time I tried it out on a freeway run into work it didn't show the vacuum.Nuts! For 20bux I was able to let it go. Until it died. One thing I have noticed about the Scantool unit is that I get a LOT more ODB-II itemsto graph using Torque, The torque program just had an update and it accepts 2 pluginsthat look Very cool. One actually records video with 3 predefined points overlayed onit. Haven't used it much on my commute, but on a track it would be sweet. I've seenpictures of it with maps overlayed, though I haven't tried this yet.It came with software and a usb cable for a laptop with a license #, OBDwiz. Haven'ttried this yet but will.My first hookup to my 2007 Toyota Corolla OBD-II port was instantly successful. Wellnot instantly, the unit had to scan my car's obd-ii bus for available oids. After theinitial scan it always hooked up quickly with bluetooth. I have to say I am a bitoverwhelmed with all of the points I can use with Torque now.I consider it a good buy. Hope this helps.

5OBT 2 bluetooth device review.
By Steve E Hubbard
I looked at many Bluetooth options before I purchased this unit. It has the most flexibility in this type of adapters including an RS-232 port if needed. It is available with out the port at a lower cost. I had read that most of the lower cost China adapters were hit and miss as far as reliability. This unit works great and has given me no connection issues and has a decent range when used with the "Torque" App on my Droid. I highly recommend this device. Bottom line it is more expensive than others however you get what you pay for!

By David Furrow
I have a 1999 Dodge 2500 Ram and the OBDLink Bluetooth Multiprotocol OBD-II did not work on the ABS system. It did work on other functions of the vehicle.
