Joico KPak vapor iron is not worth the money

I read the reviews on Kpak before purchasing, and I saw one that said the iron sparked and stopped working, but she expressed she was happy she purchased from amazon, and had it replaced. Being new to amazon I went ahead and purchased the item on 01/09/2011 I used about once a week, and on 03/08/2011 I filled the iron, plugged it in, and as it was heating up, a popping noise came from the iron, along with a spark that shot out from the iron, and the iron was dead. I paid a lot of money for this iron, to now find out that my 30 day return policy is up, and I can't get the item fully replaced. Had I understood this policy I would not have taken a chance on this item. My old iron is a GHD, it's four years old, and still working great. I should have stuck with what I knew instead of trying to take a chance on something that already had one bad review. The Kpak has a good concept, but it has some issues that Joico needs to work out before tagging such a high price tag on. Plus now I'm stuck with a full bottle of iron refill that's useless to me. I honestly would not suggest buying this iron, it's just not worth it. Don't be like me and take your chances. This is at least two reviews of the iron sparking, seems like more than a fluke.

This product worked great on my coarse, wavy hair and it really helped keep it from splitting. The problem I have with it and the reason I gave it a one star is that it lasted less than 1 year & then with a puff of smoke quit working. I give it 5 stars when it is working, but too much money to spend on an iron that lasts less than 1 year.

worth every penny!

I have coarse wavy hair and this iron makes my hair look shiny, swingy and healthy. Plus,it feels great, soft and touchable, not fried like some products leave it. I have tried everything including costly chemical straightening and keratin treatments. This iron worked better than anything. I love the case because I get ready at the gym every morning so it has to travel well. I liked the additional product also. I used both the oil and the vapor fuel and my hair didn't feel at all greasy even on the second day.
