One of a Kind Portable Performance Puppet Stage

This stage is one of a kind-- I mean that literally. It is a perfect stage for puppets size 18" and less. The bigger puppets need more space and the opening is not high enough for the large puppets. I use it for my show performances. I perform 6 - 10 times a month, 12 months a year. It holds up pretty well. You have to replace the curtain L rods (they are made out of a light metal) and after many uses the L weakens and breaks off - It took 3 years and hundreds of performances for me before I had to replace it. Also the plastic connecting pieces are brittle in the cold so get extra - I have had to replace them 3 times (I found out that you shouldn't leave the stage in the car in the cold) This stage is very handy--pops up easily and is easy to put together. You can decorate it using velcro (sticks great to the cover) and you can make all kinds of curtains for it using shiny silk (the curtain they provide is too dense and you can't see through it). I also have lights for it (clip lights) which I use to shine on the curtains I have made. That way you can't be seen even though you can see through the curtain. The company (PrestoStage) sells backstage pocket curtains to hold props and puppets. However, I made shelves and use those to hold props, etc. One other suggestion (which I had to figure out since there are no instructions regarding this feature)-- the stage (the actual flat stage piece) is made out of cardboard (which after extended use becomes flimsy) however they made the stage cover with a long opening (there is a long velcro strip holding the cardboard form in the cover). Just open the velcro side of the cover and pull out the cardboard form. You can use the cardboard form inside as a pattern to make your stage more sturdy (I made mine out of plywood) and then just put your new stronger stage form inside the cover and seal. The instructions do not cover this so take note. I have two of these stages that I use. I wish they had some of the things that I mentioned above, but with a little personal tweeking and augmenting the stage definitely worth every penny-- You cannot find anything else like it.
