Good - but not as easy as the video makes out

I purchased the jungle version of this kit. First, let me say that the video they produced to guide you says you can do all this in a weekend. NOT! Especially if you have anything else to do like laundry, eat a meal or watch a toddler. The instructions are GREAT - but three weekends later I am still not finished.Also of note - if you have 'orange peel' walls, the stencils really don't stick very well which makes the painting process take way more time that if you had a flat surface to stick to. It also means that the edges of your characters will not be nice and smooth...because your wall is not nice and smooth. This means you have to do a lot of touch up painting when you finish with all the stenciling.Although it seems like a deal that they supply the brushes when you purchase directly from their site, the sponges just don't work as well as real bristle brushes and again - it takes you a while to figure that out so that increase the amount of time it takes to do the painting.Overall, I LOVE how may son's new paint job looks - he even helped on a couple of pieces of it and he is 6. However, don't think it will be done in one weekend. We had to take everything out of his room and it has been sitting in my office now for almost a month. Inconvenient to say the least.I did however, rate this at 4 stars as these are all minor compared to the cool room my son now has! Just be forewarned to schedule a good deal of time to make it happen.

Great product and results!

Bought the Fairy Wall Stencils earlier this year when we were upgrading my daughter to her "big girl" room. The stencils were very easy to use but as others mentioned this is a process and not something you should rush. After painting the room duo tone- sky and hills- I placed the stencils around the room with tape first to make sure I liked the design layout. I used crafter's paint (you can buy at Joanns, Hobby Lobby, Michaels). I didn't use near as much paint as was recommended but our room was small- 10x10. The stencil adhesive was great. I have used stencils that you need to apply your own spray adhesive- which is time consuming and cumbersome- so this was a very welcome change especially with the detail of some of the stencils. Highly recommend using a light coat of paint with a foam brush, waiting for it to dry and then reapply one to two additional coats. As this is a stencil and permanent, no issues with little hands pealing off the pretty fairies. (Obviously have had experience with wall stickers "disappearing"). Extremely pleased with the end results.

Amazing results!!!

We purchased this for my 4 year old daughter. The Pro's far outweigh the con's. This does take a process to do it correctly so if you are looking for a quick fix then this is not for you. But If you do it correctly then it has amazing results. The whole project from priming the walls, painting the background colors and then adding the stencil work took 3 days. If you don't need to prime then you are looking at 2 days. The stencils themselves are great and very cute. They are pretty durable but you still need to be careful. The hardest one was the large mushroom...a lot of thin lines. We had to place them on the walls and then spread them flat on the wall starting inside and pushing to the outside. We did not buy the paint kit, my wife bought our own pain. Most of them we only needed samples from Lowe's which saved us a lot of money. We came up with many different designs based on the stencils it came with. The provide a nice, colored picture to go off of or you can make your own designs. I sticky adhesive was really durable. I re-used the stars at least 120 times (I made a star night scene on the ceiling) before the adhesive was not working anymore. So you don't have to worry about that. I have textured walls so I was really concerned about the paint running. I quickly realized that it was better to use a foam brush and not a regular brush. I also realized it was much better to use 2 or 3 coats of paint per design instead of trying one thick layer of paint. Once I peeled off the stencils they looked amazing! Because of the textured walls we are not talking perfect lines...but so close to perfect you will not be disappointed. I just had to take my time and do it right the first time so I would not have start over. The end results is amazing work and design! My daughter loves her new fairy kingdom. We were able to draw them dancing around her closest, reading a book above her bed resting on her bed stand, and flying around in the clouds over her room. It even comes with a snail design to have sliding around in the grass. Bottom line, it if you are hesitant don't be. This was so worth the time and money and my daughter now has an amazing room which looks professionally done. I highly recommend this product to anyone wanting to do this.Joshua
