Everything you Need - Nothing you Don't!

I'd been in the market for a high quality chest rig for awhile when I found the TAG Marine Gladiator Chest Rig. I actually saw this rig in use on a youtube channel and the user, who had military experience, talked about how much he liked the rig. The construction of this chest rig is second to none and it is very durable. The nylon is thick, stiff, and won't wear out anytime soon. The location of the magazine pouches make access very easy and the flat profile of this rig helps keep all my ammo close to my body and makes egress into and out of vehicles effortless. For my civilian uses, it is more rig than I really needed, but given the cost of purchasing a flat MOLLE panel and then outfitting it with pouches, the price was actually less for this piece of kit. I was able to easily attach a Blackhawk holster to it in a comfortable location, and it comes with plenty of webbing for attachment of small pouches and other magazine pouches. I also ordered a 3-mag universal pouch (also by TAG) to go with this. What you can't see with the pictures is that there are pockets behind the AR mag pouches to store small items. I've stored extra pistol mags and even a Ruger LCP with ease. One could also use these pockets to store critical documents like ID, maps, or other things specific to what you are doing. The rig is hydration compatible and will allow you to stuff any type of hydration bladder you want in there. The shoulder straps have plenty of available webbing to run the straw through. Additionally, there is a lot of webbing on the back of the hydration pouch so you can put more pouches if you like. In fact, it may be recommended to counter-balance the weight of ammo in the front AR pouches.Wearing the rig itself is a dream. It is very comfortable to wear long term, even with all the mag pouches completely full of 180 rounds of 5.56 ammo in my PMAG's. It doesn't droop forward at all thanks in part to the horizontally adjustable straps that hold this rig tight to your body. The shoulder straps are deeply padded (even more so than my Osprey Aether 70 pack) and will make carrying your load-out less of a burden. Since the rig has so much adjustment, you can easily adapt it to fit over existing body armor, a vest, or cold weather clothing. It really is versatile. For my kind of shooting, it works perfectly, as it doesn't get in the way at all, and the open top pouches (with shock cord bungee retainers) allow for very fast access to magazines. The pouches hold the mags fast even without the retainers in place, so no worries about magazines falling out. Plus, getting to your magazines is a silent operation; you won't hear an ear-shattering RIIIIIIP associated with opening Velcro enclosures. Don't think that sound is an issue? Try doing it on a quiet morning while trying to sneak up on a deer!All in all, this rig allows me to keep just enough gear and ammo within easy reach while giving me the flexibility and mobility that I want without a burdensome system that isn't as ergonomic as the TAG Gladiator Chest Rig. Once you put this on, you will understand my enthusiasm for this piece of high quality craftsmanship.

great rig

this rig is definitly made to last. only complaint if you wan't to call it that, is it was most likely made to go over armor I'm 6' 225# with a beer gut and have the side straps cinched down almost all the way, which means the buckles are behind my back. very comfortable easy to wear all day.bib can be detatched at top (velcro straps)and folded down inside behind mag pouches if need be.
